Ben and Julie Wolff are the owners of Corrival Ranch. They’ve been married since 2001 and reside in Boerne, Texas with one of their three daughters.
Ben and Julie are serial entrepreneurs, prior to founding Corrival Ranch, the couple co-founded and took public multiple technology and telecommunications companies. Julie served as each company’s primary legal counsel and Ben served as its chief executive officer. As active investors in private companies and mentors to their founders, Ben and Julie have been involved with a wide range of companies in the food and agriculture sector, including a winery, a commercial bakery, and a shellfish farm. Ben graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Ag Business and Julie graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon with a degree in Business Administration. Ben went on to earn his law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon and Julie earned her master’s degree in Business Administration and a law degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.
Susie Phillips’ interaction and involvement with the horse industry runs deep, from running and operating her family breeding program to managing a successful equine apparel business providing show clothing to top riders. Susie has certificates from Colorado State University in Breeding Management and artificial insemination.
While breeding and raising world and reserve world champions, Susie currently shows two of her AQHA mares in the Hunter class but stays actively involved in all major associations including AQHA, NRHA, APHA, PTHA, and NSBA.
She graduated from Campbell University with a BS in Psychology & Sociology. Susie lives in Boerne with her husband Jason Phillips and their two children Ellie and Cody.
Scott Jones grew up on the sprawling Matador Ranch, one of the most historic ranches in Texas, where he rode and competed with horses of many disciplines. His parents, Casey and Deb Jones, kept several different types of horses for Scott to ride and train. He was educated in the Motley County Independent School District and landed his first training gig, working for Harry Spicer, right after high school.
From there, his career just took off. Over the next few years Jones worked for Mark Shaffer then Nancy Sue Ryan, then Leslie Lange and back to Nancy Sue Ryan’s where he stayed until moving to the East Coast to work for Pierre Briere.
Then in 2006, Jones teamed with David Miller to establish Showstring in Oneco, Connecticut. In 2013, they moved that operation to Boerne, Texas where they trained AQHA contenders and futurity prospects and coached youth and non-pro competitors.
After a much-needed break from training and running up and down the road, he recently decided to reopen Showstring on his own out of the Corrival Ranch, a beautiful new facility situated on 57 acres running along the Guadalupe River just outside Boerne.
His program focuses on the training only the English horse, focused on AQHA Hunter Under Saddle and futurity events. He also coaches and offers lessons for youth and amateurs and offers a few clinics.
AQHA Professional Horseman Michael Hunsinger of San Antonio, TX works with a variety of clients. From Level 1 youth riders learning the basics and fundamentals on their first horse to seasoned amateurs looking to top the nation. Michael has been training horses for over 15 years with experience and knowledge in Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Trail, Western Riding, Showmanship, Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle, and Ranch Riding. He previously worked with some of the top Western Pleasure and All Around trainers in the country, including David Dellin and Brad Jewett. Michael has been involved in training multiple World and Congress Champions, AQHA Level 1 Champions, APHA Reserve World Champions and other top riders in All Around events. His attention to detail and love for teaching riders has helped him become a top professional.
Meghan Moriarty has been in the horse training industry for 15 years. Originally from northern New York, Meghan earned degrees in business and equine sciences at SUNY Morrisville in New York, where she showed horses in AQHA and NRHA. At SUNY Morrisville, Meghan discovered her passion for showing horses. She focuses on teaching her students and getting her training horses to be all-around horses. Meghan has experience working with top professionals and always strives to learn more. She harnesses all these experiences to build confidence in her riders and to help them find a connection with their horses.
Decades of experience in horse training
Kevin’s roots run deep in the horse industry as his father Dale McDavitt was an AQHA trainer, breeder and an AQHA and APHA judge.
Kevin went on to apprentice under other nationally recognized trainers such as Troy Green, Jody Galyean, and Doug Carpenter. Following this, McDevitt Performance Horses was started in 1984. Alongside the accomplishments of his training and coaching of youth and amateurs, Kevin has earned 3 World Championships at the APHA World Show, Reserve Champion at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress, NSBA Top Five Money Earner in the nation, and numerous Top 5 and Top 10 placings at all the major shows.
Kevin’s decades of experience and knowledge in training bring each horse to their full potential without exceeding their mental and physical maturity level. Kevin strongly believes in training a horse in such a way that they achieve excellence throughout their show career.
